Youth Cybersafety: Stay One Step Ahead of Online Scams, AI Tricks & Digital Drama

Did you know nearly half of youth and teens aged 8 to 17 have been scammed online, and 1 in 5 encounter scams every day? These scams often happen through social media, online games, fake websites, and even text messages. AI technology is enabling scammers to be even more convincing.
This in-person session is designed to help youth and teens stay in control of their digital lives and avoid the kinds of online traps that can lead to stress, scams, or serious consequences. You’ll learn how to stay safer and smarter online, without giving up the platforms and tools you love.
Led by the KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety Foundation, this session covers:
  • How scammers, hackers, and trolls specifically target young people
  • The personal info you might be sharing without even realizing it
  • Tips to lock down your accounts and protect your privacy and reputation
  • Safer ways to use social media, gaming platforms, and messaging apps
  • How to spot sketchy content and make better digital choices every day

In today’s digital age, artificial intelligence is widely used and can pose various dangers for youth and teens. To learn more about the implications of AI, access our courses or resources for more information.
