KnowledgeFlow Expands Canada’s Only K–12 Cybersafety Curriculum to Include Safe and Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence
For Immediate Release
Building on the success of its groundbreaking K–12 Cybersafety Curriculum first introduced on Data Privacy Day 2019, the KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety Foundation has announced a major update: the integration of AI safety and ethical use throughout its digital education materials.
Canada’s only comprehensive Cybersafety Curriculum now prepares students, educators, and families to navigate emerging technologies responsibly, emphasizing privacy, digital citizenship, and the implications of artificial intelligence in everyday life. The enhanced curriculum addresses timely issues such as:
- Understanding how AI systems collect and use data
- Recognizing and mitigating algorithmic bias
- Practicing ethical and responsible AI use in education and communication
- Reinforcing privacy, security, and digital wellbeing in an AI-powered world
“AI has changed the way young people learn, create, and connect,” said Claudiu Popa, Co-Founder and Chairman of KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety Foundation. “Our role is to ensure that educators and students have the tools and confidence to use these technologies safely and ethically, not with fear, but with knowledge and empowerment.”
The updated content is fully integrated across KnowledgeFlow’s educational offerings, including its lesson plans, online courses, and CyberByters video series. All materials continue to be guided by KnowledgeFlow’s First Principles of Cybersafety™ : Be Secure, Be Private, Be Skeptical, and Be Positive, equipping students with lifelong skills for safe digital participation. This evolution of Canada’s Cybersafety Curriculum™ comes at a time when both the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada are placing renewed emphasis on digital-literacy, technology ethics and AI leadership.
