
Staying Safe Online: A Cybersafety Workshop for Seniors

Staying safe online for seniors is more important than ever in today’s digital world. While the internet brings convenience, connection, and access, it also comes with real risks; from scams and fraud to privacy breaches and unsafe browsing habits. This in-person workshop series is designed especially for older adults who want to better understand how to protect themselves online.
Delivered by the KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety Foundation, in collaboration with Community Development Council Durham (CDCD), this free workshop is part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025 and will give seniors the tools they need to stay safe and secure in a connected world.
This engaging and supportive series will help you recognize online threats, protect your personal information, and avoid common scams whether you’re shopping online, using email, or connecting with friends on social media.
Online Safety for Everyday Life
This session focuses on the most common digital threats facing seniors today; from scam emails and fake messages to unsafe banking habits and weak passwords. Participants will learn how to spot fraud, shop and bank safely online, and protect their devices from everyday risks. These essential skills build a strong foundation for safe digital living.

Protecting Your Privacy in a Digital World
As more of our lives move online, understanding how to protect personal privacy is more important than ever. In this session, participants will explore how to use social media wisely, secure their online accounts, and find trusted support when they need it. It’s about building confidence and control in a connected world. During this workshop, you will also learn how to:
