Safer Internet Day 2025
February 11

Safer Internet Day
Safer Internet Day (SID) is celebrated worldwide, bringing together communities to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology, particularly for children and young people. Since its inception in 2004, SID has grown to include over 200 countries and territories, fostering a culture of digital well-being through awareness, education, and empowerment.
This year, we continue to champion these values by reflecting on last year’s powerful webinar, “A Safer Internet – Whose Responsibility Is It Anyway?” Hosted in collaboration with Cyberlite, ICTC, Cyber Legends, and cybersecurity expert Claudiu Popa, the session explored vital topics such as:
- The critical roles of parents and educators in cyber safety.
- The risks children face online today and how strategies can evolve.
- Global perspectives on cybersafety education, including insights from Canada and Singapore.
- Practical tips for safeguarding children online, no matter your tech expertise.
Whether you’re an educator, a parent, or a digital citizen, Safer Internet Day is a call to action to prioritize both protection and empowerment in the digital lives of our youth.
