Fraud Prevention Month

March is Fraud Prevention Month!

Initially started in 2004 by the Canadian Competition Bureau, this year marks the 20th edition of Fraud Prevention Month (FPM).

What is Fraud Prevention Month?

Fraud Prevention Month is an annual awareness campaign designed to help people recognize, reject, and report fraud. By empowering individuals through heightened awareness, FPM aims to create a society better equipped to identify and thwart fraudulent schemes, ensuring a safer and more secure world for everyone.

“20 years of fighting fraud: From then to now”

This year’s theme, “20 years of fighting fraud: From then to now” aims to showcase how fraud has evolved over the years, from telemarking scams to current scams including social media and artificial intelligence.
