Program Overview

Presented by the KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety Foundation, and in partnership with the Town of Ajax, this workshop series offers a safe, friendly, and practical space to learn essential online safety skills. Each session is interactive, with real-time practice on your own phone, tablet, or laptop, or you can borrow a device if needed. This six-part, hands-on cybersafety series is designed to help you recognize, avoid, and recover from digital threats while confidently using the internet, email, apps, banking, and more.

Session 4 Breakdown

In this session, you will learn how to stay safer online by understanding both the benefits and risks of AI tools, recognizing misinformation and disinformation, and using reputable fact-checking sites to verify what you see. You will also explore practical ways to protect your privacy, such as using white lies when websites request unnecessary details, reviewing app permissions, managing cookies, and adjusting privacy settings on your accounts. By the end of this session, you will feel more confident navigating social platforms, knowing what is safe to post, how to spot suspicious content, and how to protect your identity online.

Session 4 Tech Wise Interactive Hub

Through this page, you’ll explore practical interactive activities that help older adults strengthen their digital safety skills using real-world scenarios and guided practice. Each activity builds on topics from the session, allowing you to apply what you’ve learned directly on your own device and grow more confident online.
