April 2

fact-checking is a critical skill when navigating information online

April 2nd is International Fact-Checking Day!

International Fact-Checking Day (IFCD) emphasizes the importance of correcting misinformation online. By bringing awareness to the importance of verifying information, combating misinformation, and promoting media literacy, we ensure a better informed and empowered society!

The International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) created the first IFCD in 2017 to address their concerns over political misinformation on social media. Now celebrated annually on April 2nd, IFCD brings awareness to the crucial work of fact-checkers worldwide and the importance of critical thinking skills. Follow along on social media with hashtags #FactsMatter and #FactcheckingDay

Join us to become #UnHackable!

Critical thinking is a key skill in media and information literacy, allowing us to identify misinformation and combat the spread of false information. Empower yourself today! Visit the Cybersafety Academy to get started.
