These modules are designed for flexibility. You choose the order in which to complete them, starting with whichever module interests you most. Each module includes a short final quiz, and submitting it earns you a certificate of completion. Your certificate will indicate the number of professional development hours you have earned, which you can share with your principal or school administration. Work through the content at your own pace and collect certificates as you go!

Módulo 1: La mentalidad de los medios de comunicación

This module focuses on building strong digital media literacy. It invites teachers to pause, learn, and reflect on their role as leaders in digital learning spaces. The module helps you develop the mindset needed to evaluate online information, teach students to question what they see, respond to misinformation, and model responsible online behaviour. You will also explore core ideas within digital citizenship, including cyberbullying, digital footprints, and how to respond to online harms. These lessons connect directly to everyday teaching and will help you create learning environments that are safer, more informed, and more empowering for your students.

Module 2: The Systems that Power learning

This module focuses on understanding digital systems, networks, and computational thinking. It invites teachers to explore how computers create, process, store, and share data, and how devices work together in networks. You will learn to navigate the internet, manage files, troubleshoot common issues, and apply responsible and secure practices at school and at home. The module also introduces the Internet of Things (IoT), showing how connected devices operate and how to use them safely in classrooms. Teachers will develop foundational coding and computational thinking skills, learning concepts such as algorithms, variables, loops, and conditionals, so you can make sense of the technology that powers learning!

Módulo 3: Defensa digital

This module teaches teachers how to identify, understand, and avoid scams, digital deception, and other online threats. You will learn about common scams, including phishing, tech and transaction fraud, and social engineering, and how to recognize warning signs in websites, apps, and interfaces. The module introduces the Information Triad of confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and shows how to apply these principles to protect data, secure devices, and maintain privacy. You will also learn approaches to detect, respond to, and reduce digital risks, creating a safer online environment.

Module 4: Designing for Everyone

This module helps teachers build a foundation in design principles to create accessible, clear, and visually engaging learning materials. You will learn the basics of design and graphic design, including key elements such as line, shape, colour, and space, as well as principles such as balance, contrast, and alignment. The module also covers page layout, typography, colour theory, and strategies for integrating visual design into lessons. You will explore accessibility standards and tools, including the POUR model, text contrast, screen readers, captions, and alt-text, and learn how to evaluate and improve classroom visuals to support all learners.

Module 5: The AI toolkit

This module helps teachers understand and use artificial intelligence (AI) in education. AI is more accessible than ever to teachers and students, and learning to use it effectively is essential to benefit from its power while understanding its risks. The module provides a clear framework for evaluating and selecting AI tools that are safe, appropriate, and effective for your classroom. You will learn what AI is, how it works, and the differences between generative and analytical AI, as well as its impacts on teaching and learning, including assessment, feedback, and adaptive learning. Ethical considerations such as privacy, security, and bias are covered to help you make informed decisions about using AI responsibly.
