Treat them like computers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Know how to factory-reset the device<\/strong> before it is sold, given away or permanently transferred.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Make the Family Rules Explicit&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>No surprise recording.<\/strong> Ask before deliberately recording identifiable people.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ask twice: capture and share.<\/strong> Permission to record someone is not automatically permission to post, message, remix or livestream them.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u201cStop\u201d means stop.<\/strong> Do not keep filming, follow the person or make their objection part of the content.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Keep cameras out of sensitive spaces.<\/strong> No recording in washrooms, changing areas, bedrooms belonging to others, medical or counselling appointments, confidential meetings or anywhere the school or venue prohibits it.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Think about bystanders.<\/strong> Your friend\u2019s permission does not automatically include every student, employee or stranger visible behind them.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do not capture secrets accidentally.<\/strong> Watch for PIN pads, payment cards, passwords, computer screens, access badges, documents, house numbers, licence plates and school or workplace identifiers.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Explain intentional visual-AI use when another person\u2019s privacy could reasonably be affected.<\/strong> A recording light may not signal every camera-powered AI interaction.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Never use smart glasses to bait, embarrass, sexualize, intimidate, follow or secretly monitor someone.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Never record while driving or during another activity that requires full attention.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If Your Child Thinks Someone Is Recording Them&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Choose safety over confrontation.<\/strong> Move away if the person is provoking, following, threatening or surrounding them.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Set one clear boundary if it is safe:<\/strong> \u201cI do not consent to being recorded or posted. Please stop.\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do not grab the glasses or the wearer.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tell the person responsible for the space:<\/strong> a teacher, administrator, supervisor, manager, security officer or another trusted adult.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Write down what happened:<\/strong> date, time, location, description, witnesses and what was said.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>If something was posted, preserve evidence before reporting it:<\/strong> username, link, caption, date, messages and appropriate screenshots.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do not repost harmful content just to condemn it.<\/strong> That may enlarge its audience.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Report the original and each reupload<\/strong> using the platform category that best fits: privacy, bullying, harassment, impersonation, sexual content or child safety.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Escalate threats, stalking, extortion, voyeuristic or sexualized recording, intimate imagery, or immediate danger.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For sexual imagery involving a young person, do not forward the image.<\/strong> Preserve surrounding information and seek guidance from Cybertip.ca or police as appropriate.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If Your Child Made the Mistake&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Stop further recording and sharing.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Preserve enough information to understand what happened<\/strong> before deleting evidence needed by a school or other investigation.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Help remove or report copies.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Focus on the person affected\u2014not simply the possibility of punishment.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Discuss what should have happened differently: ask, disclose, stop, protect.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Repair the harm safely and appropriately when possible.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Five-Second Test&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before recording, ask:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Would I do this with a phone held visibly in front of me?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before posting, ask:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Would I show this to the person first?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the answer changes because the camera is harder to notice, that is the warning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">KnowledgeFlow Rule&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ASK before capture.<\/strong>&nbsp;<br><strong>ASK before sharing.<\/strong>&nbsp;<br><strong>STOP when asked.<\/strong>&nbsp;<br><strong>PROTECT what the camera can see.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Based on Canadian privacy guidance for wearable technologies and current smart-glasses capabilities.
