SUMMARY:#UnHackathon 2025: Win Big by Getting Smart Online
DESCRIPTION:The #UnHackathon 2025 isn’t your typical hackathon. There’s no coding\, no complex tech setups\, and no hacking—just creativity\, learning\, and a fun challenge that turns cybersafety into something students can understand\, apply\, and share. \nOpen to students from Grades 3 -12 across Canada\, The #UnHackathon invites youth to take what they’ve learned about cybersafety and digital media literacy and turn it into creative projects designed to educate older adults in their families or communities. \nWhether you love art\, music\, storytelling\, or design\, this challenge is for you. \nWhat’s the Design Challenge?\nParticipants will complete the CyberByters online course (by grade level) at CyberByters.ca\, then create a project that teaches at least three cybersafety concepts to older adults—like grandparents\, neighbours\, or seniors in the community. \nProjects can be submitted in any format\, including: \n\nPosters or infographics\nVideos or animations\nSongs or spoken word\nGames or puzzles\nSlideshows\, podcasts\, or zines\nThe goal is to help older adults understand and apply cybersafety skills in a way that is clear\, engaging\, and age-appropriate. This is a project-based learning experience that builds digital citizenship\, critical thinking\, and communication skills.\n\nPrizes & Recognition\nSubmit your entry by October 31st to enter the contest.
