This in-person workshop series is designed especially for older adults who want to better understand how to protect themselves online. \nDelivered by the KnowledgeFlow Cybersafety Foundation\, in collaboration with Community Development Council Durham (CDCD)\, this free workshop is part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2025 and will give seniors the tools they need to stay safe and secure in a connected world. \nThis engaging and supportive series will help you recognize online threats\, protect your personal information\, and avoid common scams whether you’re shopping online\, using email\, or connecting with friends on social media. \nOnline Safety for Everyday Life\nThis session focuses on the most common digital threats facing seniors today; from scam emails and fake messages to unsafe banking habits and weak passwords. Participants will learn how to spot fraud\, shop and bank safely online\, and protect their devices from everyday risks. These essential skills build a strong foundation for safe digital living. \n\nRecognizing scams\, frauds\, and fake messages\nSafer online shopping and banking habits\nUnderstanding passwords\, passphrases\, and multi-factor authentication\nHow to protect your devices from common threats\n\nIf you ever encounter fraud\, report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre \nStaying Safe Online in a Digital World\nAs more of our lives move online\, staying safe online\, and understanding how to protect personal privacy is more important than ever.
