Rather than focusing on fear or technical jargon\, we will explain how scams actually work\, why they are effective\, and what you can do immediately to protect yourself and loved ones. \nParticipants will learn: \n\nWhy scams target seniors and why anyone can be affected\nHow scams are delivered through phone calls\, emails\, text messages\, fake websites\, ads\, and QR codes\nThe most common red flags used by scammers\, including urgency\, impersonation\, payment requests\, and requests for personal information\nHow to spot deceptive tactics such as caller ID spoofing\, fake email senders\, look-alike websites\, malicious links\, attachments\, pop-ups\, and remote access scams\nWhat to do in high-risk situations such as bank impersonation calls and the Grandparent Scam\n\nYou will leave the session better equipped to recognize scams across multiple channels with practical strategies you can use immediately to reduce the risk of financial loss\, identity theft\, and ongoing victimization.
